I write about the questions that come up repeatedly in the work: what a standard actually asks of you, where organisations lose time, and which decisions are worth making early. The audience is the person who has to defend the choice, not the person who has to configure the tool.
Pieces are written to stay useful. Where a date or a deadline carries the argument, it is named explicitly, so you can judge for yourself whether the piece still applies to your situation.
